Mikel moved from Chelsea to Tianjin Teda for free but earns a whooping


Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Obi on Sunday suffered a 2-1 defeat to Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super league.

Teda who defeated Tianjin Quanjian in their last game were 2 points below their host before the kick off.

The game commenced with Tianjin Teda dominating play with the Super Eagles captain pulling the strings and ensuring the first half ended goalless for Teda.

The second stanza of the game changed when the home team introduced Ghanaian international Richmond Boakye for Lifeng in the 57th minutes.

Sunning broke the deadlock in the 75th minutes through a Boakye penalty and Ale Teixeira added the second goal two minutes later.

Jonathan reduced the deficit for Teda in the 80th minute of the game to end it at 2-1.

Mikel missed the Super Eagles pre-world cup friendlies due to visa hitches and should be available for the team’s next game against DR Congo.
