The early kickoff game between Chelsea and Newcastle in the English premiership saw Victor Moses return to the starting eleven with a sublime display down the right flank at Stamford Bridge.
Moses assisted Spanish striker Alvaro Morata to put Chelsea in front before his well timed run deep into the Newcastle’s box won the blues a penalty to seal victory in the second half.
Things did not start well for the reigning champions as a defensive mix up was capitalized upon by Dwight Gayle to give the visitors a shock 12 minute lead.
Chelsea began to pile the pressure with Moses, Morata and Hazard leading the most dangerous assault.
Chelsea duly got their equalizer in the 21st minute through Eden Hazard’s quick reaction to a rebound before Moses ensured the champions will go into the break ahead, when he dribbled past his marker to deliver a teasing cross with Morata needing only to prod home in the 33rd minute.
Moses was at it again as he lashed onto a through ball by Fabregas only to be brought down by a late tackle in the eighteen yard box and win a penalty which Belgium talisman Eden Hazard dispatched stylishly to make it 3-1 in the 74th minute.
Moses also proved his return to full fitness by playing through the entire match without a glitch.
Chelsea moved level on point with second placed Manchester United with the red devils ahead only on goals difference but with a game to come against 4th placed Arsenal on Saturday.
