Super Eagles’ newly hired fitness coach, Okechukwu Akas has dropped a concerning alarm that the Home-Based Eagles are currently match rusty, with the CHAN tournament barely 3 weeks away.
The fitness trainer who was hired 2 days ago and has since joined the Home-Based Eagles’ camp revealed this to newsmen, stating that work need to be done in the coming days to straighten out the wrinkles in the players fitness.
“They are a little bit rusty, but in the coming days we can do a lot.”
However, Home-Based Eagles’ head coach, Salisu Yusuf has said the team will be ready to conquer Africa.
“We have done the needful; we train as expected of every hard working team
to blend for good results.
“The team is up and doing and I am confident that they are in form and on
top of their game to play matches satisfactorily in CHAN,’’ Yusuf said.
Nigeria will begin their CHAN campaign against Rwanda on January 15.
