Eagles Watch: Ogu in bullish mood, Moses tastes defeat


Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is convinced Hapoel Be’er Sheva will overcome Bulgarian side, Ludogorets Razgrad in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League preliminary clash at Happel’s Yaakov Tumer Toto Stadium.

“Ready against Ludogorets!! Road to the UEFA Champions League group stage, ” Ogu tweeted.

Ogu will have his Nigerian compatriot Anthony Nwakeme in the team to hunt for goals.


Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi scored the fourth goal for Italian side Torino in their 5-0 win over Renate in a preseason friendly.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been battling reoccurring injury troubles that has limited his career growth. Joel scored a fantastic 20 yard rocket in the 26th minute.


On loan Chelsea midfielder Ola Aina squared up against another Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem in Hull City’s 0-0 draw against Nantes.

While Aina started for Hull and posted another brilliant performance, Awaziem was a second half substitute for Nantes coming on in the 79th minute for the French side managed by Claudio Raneiri who signed him on loan from Fc Porto.


Victor Moses played first as right full back, then left full back as Chelsea lost 2-3 to German champions Bayern Munich in a pre season friendly in Singapore.

Moses assisted Alonso who reduced the Bavarians 3-0 lead, before they eventually scored another goal in the second half to end play at 2-3.

Fikayo Tomori’s second half introduction at right back  saw manager Conte, switch Moses to left back where Moses shined even more.
