In Belgium, Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka opened scores for Zulte-Waregem in the 44th minute but ended up on the losing side as host Sporting Charleroi won the encounter 3-2.
Olayinka lasted the entire duration of the match with his Zulte Weregem side finishing the game with 10-men after a late red card was shown to Julien De Sart.
Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was in fine form as his club – Feirense beat Chevas 2-0 away from home in the Portuguese league.
Etebo received a booking in the 82nd minute and played the full 90 minutes as his contributions was instrumental in Feirense’s win.
In the German Bundesliga, Nigerian defender Leon Balogun was again benched as his team Mainz 05 beat host VfB Stuttgart 1-0. Leon Balogun is expected to report to the Super Eagles camp on Sunday.
Still in Germany, there was no place for former U-17 world cup star Victor Osimhen in the Wolfsburg squad that beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 away from home.
Super Eagles right back Tyrone Ebuehi was on parade for the entirety of the match as his Dutch side ADO Den Haag lost 1-2 to SC Heerenveen at home. Ebuehi is amongst the players listed by Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr to face Cameroon next week.
In Spain’s La Liga Santader, Nigerian forward Kayode Olanrewaju came on as an 81st minute substitute for newly promoted side Girona in their 1-0 win over Malaga.
Kayode is on loan at Girona from Manchester City who recently signed the former Nigerian U-20 star from Austria Wein were he finished as the league’s top scorer last season.
In the English Premier League, former Nigerian junior international and recently capped super Eagles forward Isaac Success made a return to the Watford bench in their 0-0 draw against Brighton.
Even though Success did not get to play, it is the first time he would be listed in the Watford match day squad since the beginning of the new season. Success was not invited by the Nigerian national team ahead of the Cameroon clash.
