Ado Den Haag and Super Eagles right back Tyrone Ebuehi, has said that Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr was in touch with him as regards getting dropped from the team that eventually beat Zambia 1-0 to pick the ticket to the 2018 World Cup.

The Dutch born Nigerian has taken out time to celebrate Nigeria’s qualification to the World Cup to be hosted by Russia next year in an interview.

”The qualification has shown that we are one of the strongest countries in Africa,” Ebuehi told northside.nl .

Ebuehi was quick to praise influential players in the team.

‘We have players from big clubs. John Obi Mikel, he is the biggest. And then you have Victor Moses from Chelsea and Alex Iwobi from Arsenal. Boys playing at the top. It’s nice that I can train with such players.”

Quized on the reason given by coach Gernot Rohr for dropping him against Zambia, Ebuehi said : ”I have not got an explanation. However, I received a message from the
coach. He thought I had done it the last time. When I sit there again, of course, it is also for me to improve ”

”I have to make sure I stay sharp and perform well. Getting a World Cup call up is
a dream. That’s definitely a motivation to do better with Ado Den Haag and show myself. I will make every effort to be there. ”

Tyrone Ebuehi has been a consistent starter at the right back position for Netherlands Eredivise side Ado Den Haag this season, but has found same role in the national team much stiffer with Shehu Abdullahi giving strong performances in that position.
