Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi will start his new chapter in the Portuguese Primera Liga on a not too impressive note with injury.
Ebuehi joined the Portuguese Premier League giants SL Benfica this summer from Dutch Eredivisie side Ado Den Haag.
The club website on Monday confirmed the injury of the prolific defender on the left knee and confirmed the surgery for the next few days.
“Tyronne suffered rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days,” the statement reads.
Ebuehi featured for Super Eagles at the just concluded Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup especially in the victory over Iceland.
