Rivers United technical adviser, Coach Stanley Eguma, expects his team to build on their current position and get a decent result when the team plays MFM FC on NPFL Match day 18 in Lagos.
Speaking to the club’s media, the experienced gaffer pointed out that games are different and results are also independent saying he expects to have the team well prepared before the clash at the soccer temple on Monday.
“No two games are the same. We lost in Lagos last season but this season will be a different ball game,” said Eguma.
“We’re going to perfect our strategy and ensure we don’t come back empty handed.”
Further stressing the importance of the fixture, Coach Eguma expressed his optimism that his boys will defeat their hosts and are doing everything to do so.
“This match is important to us because it is going to make us consolidate on our position on the log. That is more reason we’re leaving no stone unturned to ensure that tactically we get points from Lagos.
“We’re going to pick three points from Lagos. It’s both very important and very possible,” Eguma added
Rivers United are second on the NPFL table with 26 points from 17 games and will face MFM FC who are four points behind but have played three games less.
The match was shifted to Monday to give MFM FC enough recovery time after the team returned from their disappointing ouster from the CAF Confederation Cup at the hands of Djoliba AC of Mali on Wednesday night.
