As the Super Eagles of Nigeria concluded their 2018 World cup qualifying campaign in an unbeaten manner, it seems to have gladdened the heart of defender William Troost-Ekong.
The team maintained their unbeaten run on Friday against the Desert Foxes of Algeria after they were forced to a 1-1 draw in Constantine.
Ekong played in all the six qualifiers and proved his mettle with eye-catching performances alongside his defence lynchpin, Leon Balogun.
Expressing his excitement, the Bursaspor of Turkey defender also appreciated Nigerians for their support all through the qualifying campaign.
In his reaction on his social media handle, he wrote “🇳🇬 Unbeaten World Cup qualifying campaign! Real fight here in Algeria. Proud of the boys. Thanks for your support as always#Russia2018 🏆 ”
Ekong has been enjoying his stay with Nigeria’s Senior National team, since he switched his allegiance from Netherlands.
