They’ve been speculations and rumours surrounding the shock resignation of Micheal Emenalo from his position as Technical Director of Chelsea FC and his prolonged silence fanned the embers of those hear-says but he has finally broken the silence and revealed that he left only because of his personal yearning for a new challenge.
It was earlier speculated that the ex-international bowed out of Chelsea because of an unhealthy triple-way power tussle between him, Manager Antonio Conte and powerful Director Marina Granovskaia, which poisoned the relationship between the former and the latter.
The 52-year-old Aba born Emenalo who was recently appointed Sporting Director of AS Monaco revealed in an interview with Talk Sports that he left Chelsea for a new challenge after his successful decade long period at the helm of recruitment at Stamford Bridge.
“Nothing happened. I had a wonderful 10 years at Chelsea, with positive pressure and a lot of things that happened.
“I just felt that things were in place and things looked very solid and very stable and I needed a new challenge.
“When you’ve been at a place for so long, I haven’t really had a chance to step out and breathe and see what’s out there.
“I have been very focused on everything Chelsea and it just came to a time, right bang on ten years, where I felt it was time for me to go and do something else.”
