It’s Match Day 3 across the NPFL come sunday across 10 centers, after 2 match days, Plateau Utd and Niger Tornadoes are joint leaders with 6 points.
In the camp of the 2016 champions, Enugu Rangers, it hasn’t been the kind of start the cathedral fans envisioned, losing back to back games against Akwa Utd away and Lobi stars at home in mid week.
The Gbenga Ogungbote tutored team visits Heartland FC on Sunday in the 2nd oriental derby for this season, the first one having Enyimba draw against the Owerri Boys.
Rangers’ midfielder, Godwin Aguda is looking beyond the current form of the team and is confident they will get past it.
Godwin Aguda in a chat with Naijafootballplus.com Timothy Dehinbo, spoke with full temerity and defended the clubs current form saying:
“For me I know nothing has spoilt, because the season is still fresh and open for surprising results from Rangers, so i am confident we will come back from our slip in style which happens to all teams”
The midfielder went further ahead and spoke about what the team’s technical adviser, Ogungbote had for the players ahead of the game against Heartland.
“He has told us that he still has confidence in us and expect we the players to play well and get everything going, to get it right against heartland. He also urged the fans to come out and support the team as usual” said Aguda.
The oriental battle on sunday could prove decisive to their season, though still so early, but a loss on sunday for Rangers, would bring more uncertainties to the Enugu side.
