Enyimba FC forced their host Bidvest Wits to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff tie in Johannesburg on Friday evening.
Bidvest Wits went in front as early as the 4th minute through Daine Klate after a defensive error from Isiaka Oladuntoye presented him with an opportunity.
The People’s Elephant will respond almost immediately as a smooth connection between Abdulrahman Bashir and Ibrahim Mustapha led to Mustapha producing an equalizer a minute later.
Enyimba goalkeeper Fatau Dauda will from then onwards till the end of the game be called more into action than his opposite number Moeneeb Josephs.
Dauda and his defence line however did keep out the South African side for the rest of the game ensuring a stalemate which sees Enyimba having the advantage of an away goal.
The return fixture is scheduled for the UJ Esuene stadium Calabar on wednesday the 18th of April.
