Enyimba is just like every other game – Gbenga Ogunbote

Rangers International FC coach Gbenga Ogunbote has downplayed the huge importance attached to this weekends oriental derby involving his former employers, Enyimba and his current team.

Speaking to Rangers FC media, the former Sunshine Stars and Sharks FC coach also stated that the flying antelopes expects to halt their stuttering form at home so they can meet their targets.

“We have to play. it’s my former employers, also an oriental derby among many other things which makes the match very important but I think it is just like every other game.

“All we need to do is to make amends on our past homes games to ensure that we start picking maximum points at home with effect from this game,” he said.

He also dismissed being under any form of pressure as the only pressure he feels is the target he sets for himself just as he arrives at any club.

Ogunbote added: “I am not under pressure. I have never been under any pressure as far as I am concerned. The only pressure I feel is the one in my head. I have a set target for myself when I arrive at a club and that had always been my guide. If you call that pressure, then yes.”

He finally asked Enugu fans to be patient with the team as they know the team needs to turn around their home form and he aims to impress the fans and asks for their continued support.

“We are at home and we have lost many points at home. Everything we are doing is aimed at getting the maximum points at home henceforth so that we can be stable and achieve our dreams by the end of the season.

“We just want to appeal to the fans for understanding and support and be rest assured that the team is growing day by day, match by match and they should come out and give us the required support and hopefully we’ll have the game.”

Rangers have struggled to win games at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium and will entertain a very strong Enyimba side who boasts of one of the best away return in the NPFL so far this season.
