EPL Round up: Ibe gets assist, Ndidi shines, Iheanacho benched


The football action continues to roll in thick and fast in the usual festive busy schedule in the English premier League.

We bring to you the summary of Nigerian players performances, in games played on the first day of the new year.

Super Eagles defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, was on for 90 minutes as Leicester City kick started the new year with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Huddersfield, at their King Power Stadium home turf.

As usual Ndidi was a delight in transition between defensive and attack, with a solid control of midfield while also shielding the back four.

Meanwhile it was the turn forward Kelechi Iheanacho, to make a rear appearance on the bench for the Foxes, where he observed the entire game.

Winger Ahmed Musa, who made surprise show on the bench last time out for
Leicester was not listed in the match day squad.

Over at the American Express community Stadium, where their was another brilliant performance for English born Nigerian winger Jordan Ibe for the visiting Bournemouth team, Ibe provided a 33rd minute assist for Steve Cook in a 2-2 draw against Brighton.

Super Eagles full back Ola Aina who is on loan at Hull City from Chelsea, was on defensive duty along side English born right back of Nigerian decent Fikayo Tomori in Hull City’s 0-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers.
