As the Super Eagles of Nigeria gears up to play their first pre-world cup friendly game against Argentina in Krasnodar, players are already talking tough.
Former Warri Wolves and CD Feirense midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo on Tuesday morning insisted on their readiness to defeat the former world champions.
The energetic player spoke through the team’s official Twitter handle @NGSuperEagles and declared that they are set for the task.
“First of all I give thanks to God for the qualification for the Russia 2018 world cup and also to the players and the technical crew.
“About today’s game, it is a very important game because everybody is preparing for the world cup, as you will not want to go to the world cup and mess up yourself.
“Argentina is also a big team, and we should not just look at it as a friendly game.
“And also a big shout out to our supporters Nigeria, keep supporting us and we are not going to let you down.”
Argentina moved to Krasnodar on Monday from Moscow, without Lionel Messi who has since returned to Barcelona.
The match is slated for 5:30pm, and is expected to prepare the team for whoever that will be placed in their group on December 1st, when the world cup draw will be made.
