League matches and international friendlies were in abundance on Saturday with Nigerian players plying their trade with European clubs heavily involved in the action.
We start off in Russia where Nigerian striker Sylvester Igboun scored his first goal in almost a year in FC Ufa’s 1-1 draw away to Ural.
Still in Russia where Aaron Samuel watched from the bench as his CSKA Moscow side beat SKA-Khabarovsk 2-0.
Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo scored the only goal for Feirense FC of Portugal in their 1-0 win over Varzim in a friendly match.
Meanwhile, Chelsea lost 1-2 to Italian side Inter Milan but Victor Moses put in another decent shift with manager Antonio Conte fielding the 26-year-old winger in the left full back position.
Over to the league in Denmark were there was a late red card for Nigerian midfielder Izunna Uzorchukwu in OB Odense’s 1-0 home win over AC Horsen. It was Izunna’s career first sending off.
Joel Obi was on target for his Italian side Torino as they won 2-0 over French club Guingamp. Obi has now scored two goals in pre-season friendlies for Torino so far.
Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa was an unused substitute in Leicester City 0-0 draw against English league 2 ( 3rd division) side MK Dons.
His compatriot Wilfred Ndidi was not dressed for the friendly encounter.
