Euro watch : Onazi, Uduokhai, Idowu all score


A look at how Nigerian players preformed in
matches across Europe on Wednesday, October 25.


Felix Uduokhai a German of Nigerian decent, scored for the second game in a row when he netted in the 49th minute in  Wolfsburg’s narrow 1-0 win over Hannover in the DFB Pokal.

His Nigerian team-mate Victor Osimhen was not dressed for the game while  Hannover’s Noah Sarenren Bazie  also did not make the match day squad.


Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama who is tipped to make a return to the national team was not involved in Lille’s penalties shootout victory over Valenciennes in the French cup. The match ended 2-2 after regulation time.

Meanwhile Super Eagles left back Chidozie Awaziem was unable to prevent his 10-men Nantes from losing 1-3 to host Tours Fc.


Super Eagles vice captain Ogenyi Onazi scored in the 74th minute and assisted another in Trabzonspor’s 6-0 demolition of
Çorum Belediyespor in the Turkish Cup.


Nigerian forward Orji Okonkwo came on as an 80th minute substitute in Bologna’s 1-2 loss at home to Lazio.

On loan Roma striker Sadiq Umar was subbed off in the 46th minute for 10-men Torino as they lost 0-3 to Fiorentina.


Henry Onyekuru lasted the full 90 minutes in Anderlecht’s 2-0 win over Zulte-Waregem who paraded another Nigerian striker in Peter Olayinka.

Dennis Bonaventure came on in the 46th for Club Brugge who lost 0-2 to Genk Fc.


Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali lasted 88 minutes for VVV Venlo in a 3-1 win over Utrecht.

Belgian born forward who hopes to play for Nigeria Cyriel Dessers played the entirety of the game for Utrecht.


Russian born-Nigerian defender Brian Idowu scored for Amkar Perm in the 19th minute as they defeated Rostov via penalty shootouts in the Russian Cup.
