English premier league side Everton has succeeded in fending off competition from Arsenal to land 19-year-old Nigerian striker, Henry Onyekuru.
The forward who played for KAS Eupen had attracted the attention of a number of top clubs across Europe. He almost joined Scottish champions Celtic, during the winter transfer window but the deal failed to materialize.
Onyekuru finished last season as joint topscorer scorer in the Belgian Super League with 22 goals in 38 games, 10 of those came in the final 10 games. and he .
He is understood to have undergone a medical at Everton’s Finch Farm training base on Monday and agreed personal terms to with the blue half of Merseyside.
Onyekuru will be sent on loan to another Belgian club, Anderlecht.
Anderlecht will campaign in the UEFA Champions League next season and it will further strengthen his development.
