Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick may be named as Confederation of African Football’s 1st vice-president next month, Naijafootballplus.com can exclusively report.
The Warri-born football Administrator will get the juicy position in CAF’s next meeting in Morocco in August if current Vice President elects to join the FIFA council.
Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyataki is the current CAF 1st vice-president and cannot hold two positions.
This latest development comes after the new CAF reforms adopted in the General Assembly in Morocco this month.
Naijafootballplus.com gathered this information when our correspondent held a meeting with a top football official in Abuja at the weekend.
“The Ghana FA boss have two options, either to move to FIFA council or retain his position as CAF vice-president. If Nyataki decides to move to FIFA then Pinnick will be named the CAF vice-president,” the source revealed.
Back in May 2017, Pinnick was appointed to oversee the Africa Cup of Nations tournament organizing committee. The position places him in charge of the organization of all nations cup tournaments.
