Fatai Amoo hails Shooting Stars ‘fighting spirit’

Shooting Stars coach, Fatai Amoo, has given thumbs up to his boys after the Oluyole Warriors picked a vital away point at Enugu.

The Match day 28 NPFL fixture between Rangers and Shooting Stars ended 1-1, and coach Amoo Praised his boys for their gutsy display.

“My boys worked for it and I appreciate their fighting spirit. We have to pray the Lord for it (talking about relegation) too. But the battle is still on.

Shooting Stars were lucky not to have conceded as many goals in the first-half as they had goalkeeper Charles Tambe to thank. But it was the Cameroonian goalkeeper’s gaffe which led to Godwin Aguda giving the home side the lead on 29 minutes.

Amoo also had time to praise Tambe for his heroics and even chose to pardon the goalkeeper for his mistake.

“Rangers got their chances in the 1st half but we have to praise Tambe Charles in goal. His error for their goal is pardoned.

“We must keep working as we are motivated to do well in our next home game. We must keep our head,” Said Amoo.

Shooting Stars are still in relegation zone with 33 points, two points from safety. They next play Katsina United at home on 16 July, 2017 in an NPFL matchday 29 encounter.
