Technical Adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League’s bottom of the table side Fatai Osho has described yesterday’s 0-1 defeat at Plateau United as ‘painful’.
Hamzat Owolabi profited from a long throw-in to score the only goal of the game for Plateau United to hand the sky blues their fifth consecutive defeat all ending in a 1-0 scoreline.
“Nothing went wrong, we gave it our best shot but we have to give it to the Plateau United side, they have quality players are they are table toppers in the league,” said a downcast Osho.
“We had to respect them but on our part we tried to come back into the game but we couldn’t and we have no choice than to go back home to see what we can do.”
“We worked so hard but for us to have conceded such goal is very painful, we tried so hard to neutralize the long throw but a little loss of concentration cost us the goal.”
Osho who replaced Nduka Ugbade as Technical Adviser in February this year blamed the poor nature of the pitch in Jos for his side’s inability to play their possession-based football.
“We could have done better, the field didn’t assist us. We play possession football but the field didn’t make us play our pattern and it’s just unfortunate.”
“We will keep our heads up and keep fighting till the last day of the league.” Osho assured.
