In readiness for the double header international friendlies against the Junior Pharaohs of Egypt, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have arrived Alexandria, Egypt.
The 23 man squad led by Enyimba coach Paul Aigbogun left the shore of the country on Saturday in order to honour the games.
The Nigeria U20 team failed to qualify for the last edition of the African Youth Championship and thus the FIFA U20 world cup in South Korea.
The Flying Eagles failure to secure qualification to the last edition prompted the Nigeria Football Federation into acting quickly ahead of the next edition.
The African qualifier will begin in May this year with Niger hosting the next AYC in 2019.
The Nigeria Football Federation revealed the team’s arrival on its twitter handle Sunday afternoon.
“Our #FlyingEagles have arrived in the City of Alexandria where they will Play Egypt’s U20 in two test games on Monday and Wednesday,” wrote the NFF via twitter.
