Former NFF scribe backs Eagles to do double over Zambia

Former secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi has charged the Super Eagles of Nigeria to do the double over Zambia.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will this weekend host the Chipolopolo of Zambia in a matchday 5 qualification fixture of the 2018 FIFA World cup at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo and the former Prime FC of Oshogbo chairman is convinced Nigeria will dominate and win convincingly against Zambia.

Ogunjobi who doubles as Osun state FA chairman and Special Assistant to the Governor on Football matters while speaking to in a telephone chat, said beating the chipolopolo again in Nigeria will make the last game against the foxes of Algeria a mere formality.

He was pleased with the team’s attitude and approach in the matches played so far as they meant business and have the zeal and winning mentality in them.

“I must tell you that the glorious days of the Super Eagles is returning,” said Ogunjobi. “The boys didn’t disappoint us in all the matches they have played so far. There’s room for improvement and this team can only get better and i’m very happy on a personal note.

“It’s the dream and prayer of every patriotic Nigerian that the Super Eagles must be at the Russia 2018 world cup and if possible, lift the world cup.

“What I’ve observed in this team is that the Super Eagles never showed any sign of tiredness. They are ready to put every opponent to the sword and if they can continue like this, we will become a football power house like we used to be.

“I’m very optimistic Nigeria will beat Zambia on Saturday and we will make it a double over them.

“Although the game will be tough giving the fact that Zambians will also see themselves as favourites. They defeated Algeria in both legs they have played and they will also fancy themselves, causing an upset against the Super Eagles.

“However I am positive our boys will triumph by the grace of God”.
