Serie A round up: Juventus extend gap at the top as Napoli get stuck at Sassuolo

Juventus conceded their first league goal of 2018 and it was scored by former player, Leonardo Bonucci (who equalised after Paulo Dybala had put the leaders ahead) and the ‘Bianconeri’ pulled two more at top that to ease past the pressure of Gennaro Gattuso and his hard-beating, frenzied AC Milan side.

Juan Cuadrado returned to be among the goals after he’d been sidelined with injury for 3 months and Sami Khedira gilded the victory with a sweet strike just 3 minutes to normal time after being subjected to rains of jeers from a section of the fans.

Napoli fumbled in the battle at the top yet again as they were held 1-1 by Sassuolo. Sassuolo defender Rogerio bundling the ball into his own net helped the ‘Neapolitans’ salvage a point after Matteo Politano had put the host properly in front.

Inter Milan skipper, Mauro Icardi grabbed a brace as Luciano Spalletti’s boys defeated Verona 3-0.

Lazio were ruthless against bottom-side Benevento. 5 first-half goals inspired a 6-2 victory. Lazio are breathing down Inter’s neck for the 4th place with just a point separating them (pending the time the Lombardy side will play their outstanding game).

City rivals and third-placed Roma were held 1-1 by Bologna. Edin Dzeko came off the bench to register his 14th Serie A goal of the season to cancel out Erick Pulgar’s first-half goal for the host.
Udinese suffered their 6th consecutive  Serie A defeat of the season in Atalanta 2-0.

Relegation-threatened SPAL fought back to secure a 1-1 draw against Genoa after VAR had made a controversial penalty call in favor of Genoa, sending off the culprit Francesco Vicari in tandem.

Bologna 1-1 Roma
Atalanta 2-0 Udinese
Cagliari 0-4 Torino
Fiorentina 2-0 Crotone
Genoa 1-1 Spal
Inter 3-0 Verona
Lazio 6-2 Benevento
Chievo 2-1 Sampdoria
Sassuolo 1-1 Napoli
Juventus 3-1 AC Milan
