It was a satisfactory day for Nigerian forward Alhaji Gero who grabbed one goal and an assist that helped Oestersunds FK to a 5-2 win over Fc Sirius in Sweden – Allsvenskan League match played on Wednesday.
Gero who got the nod to start fired the first goal in the 28th minute after receiving the ball from Tesfaldet Tekie, but his celebration earned him a yellow card after he offed his shirt.
The final scoreline would suggest that it was a one way traffic, however the first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate following Philip Haglund equalizer in the 48th minute.
Curtis Edwards 58′, Jamie Hopcutt 69th minute effort assisted by Alhaji Gero, Dino Islamovic 72′ and
Sotirios Papagiannopoulos in the 90th minutes put strong daylight between Ostersunds and Fc Sirius in the second half despite a failed effort to stay in the game by the visitors when Jesper Arvidsson converted from the spot in the 73rd.
Ostersunds currently occupies 8th position with 14 points from 10 matches played.
