Go Round held by FC Ifeanyi Ubah in tepid goalless draw

Go Round FC failed to take maximum points against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in a match day 19 Nigeria Professional Football League encounter played at the Krisdera Stadium Omoku on Sunday.

Following a 2-0 loss to Enyimba in midweek, Go Round looked to make home advantage count but could only manage a 0-0 draw.

In a tepid affair played in front of a handful of spectators, the NPFL debutants failed to take the few goal scoring opportunities that fell their way.

Captain Nelson Esor blazed high over the bar after dribbling into the box in the 28th minute. There was a great diving save by Drissa Bamba in goal for FC Ifeanyi Ubah to deny Shedrack Oghali whose header off a corner was goal bound in the 42nd minute.

Chile Azu’s free kick following a foul on Onyoruwba Odinaka just outside the Ifeanyi Ubah box struck the post in added time of the first half, which ended goalless.

The second half continued at the same tempo as the first with Ifeanyi Ubah’s Seka Pascal’s 66th minute shot over the bar after a penetrating run by Chijioke Alaekwe producing a moment of concern for Go Round.

Okon Etop would have a couple of opportunities to at least give the home side a goal but a heavy touch and uncoordinated reflexes will ensure the game ended 0-0.

Go Round will have the opportunity to redeem their image when they host MFM FC in a rescheduled game in midweek.
