As the battle for a promotion ticket from the Southern conference of the NNL heats up, Go Round FC has revealed the technique it has put in motion to aid its bid to secure promotion.
Go Round Coach Ngozi Elechi responding to an observation from naijafootballplus.com on a noticed increased number of long range shots by his team of recent, said it was decided by the club that more long range shots would be tried to help the club improve on its goal scoring output.
Elechi said after an assessment of the team’s stats at the end of the first round, it was discovered that they didnt have a good number of shots on goal and this they have decided to remedy for the second half of the season.
“We played the first round and I found out that my team had a less number of shots at goal in the first round” informed Elechi.
“This is the second round if we don’t do that we cannot score. So we keep on training and shooting from every angle to see how we can take goalkeepers unaware and look for the players to go on the rebound.”
Elechi also informs that the practice had begun to pay off on the pitch, sighting their week 20 league match against Bendel Insurance.
“It has shown on grounds here and even against Insurance. At the end of ninety minutes, Go Round had nothing less than seventeen shots and from that process we even won a penalty.”
“We look dangerous from counter attacks because we now shoot from any distance. We’ll keep working on our shooting.
“In times past we didn’t shoot like that but now we do so. The only way for us to get more goals and victory in the second round is by shooting.”
Match day twenty two in the Southern Conference will see Go Round take on Racine FC in Lagos.
Go Round is currently third on the league table with thirty eight points, a point behind Delta Force and four points behind league leaders Heartland FC.
