Veteran Nigerian striker and former Super Eagles hitman Bartholomew Ogbeche showed his sharpness in front of goal after scoring for Willem II in their 1-5 loss to Feyenord in an Eredivisie match played on Wednesday.

Down by 3 goals, Ogbeche was brought on from the bench to replace Thom Haye in the 63rd minute and sparked hopes of a comeback with a good finish in the 75th minute.

Dylan Vente 28′, Sofyan Amrabat 51′ and Tonny Vilhena 57’ had silenced the home crowd with their goals for Feyenoord at the Koning Willem II Stadion before Ogbeche pulled one back.

Further goals from Dylan Vente in the 86th and Bilal Basacikoglu in the 90th minutes put an end to any faint hopes of a comeback for Ogbeche and his teammates.

The 33 year-old Bartholomew Ogbeche has now scored 10 goals in all this season for Willem II in just 18 appearances.

Up next for Ogbeche will be a trip to PEC Zwolle on Sunday, with the aging but potent war horse hoping to score a goal that will fetch his side some points.
