Following unimpressive performances this season, Gombe state governor Hassan Dankwanbo has dissolved the club’s management board with immediate effect.
Gombe United who were promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football League last season are on course for a swift return to the Nigeria National League.
After 33 matchdays, Gombe United have won only nine league matches which has led to the Governor’s decision.
Despite dissolving the management of the club, governor Dankwambo chose to retain the services of the club coach Manu Garba.
The Desert Scorpions who lost their matchday 33 encounter in Ibadan, are languishing in 19th position with 37 points. They are six points adrift of safety.
They will next play Kano Pillars at home on matchday 34 with time running out to save their season.
