Group E; Brazil’s Douglas Costa Remains Doubtful for World Cup Remainder

Just as Selecao of Brazil are trying to live up to expectations, one of the key players in the team, Douglas Costa, may not feature again for the team.

The On loan Bayern Munich midfielder got injured ahead of the previous game against Costa Rica, but still managed to play the game and provided the assist for Neymar in netting the second goal.

Douglas Costa was instrumental for Italian Champions Juventus, as they claimed domestic double last season.

The Brazilian football news outlets Globo, confirmed that the left footed player will be out for up to 3 weeks (21 days) and the World Cup remains just 20 days, which means if Brazil plays all the way to the final, he will still miss the game.

His absence will surely affect the balance of the team, as he provide options for Chelsea midfielder Willian at the middle.

Brazil’s next game will be against Serbia in the last group game with the Selecao needing just a draw to progress to the next round
