Heartland FC interim coach Ezekiel Onyegbule, has assured the club’s fans that the Naze Millionaires, who are currently in the murky waters of the relegation zone will get better with time.
Speaking to journalists after he saw his side play out a barren draw against visiting oriental brothers, Abia Warriors at the weekend, the coach stated that though he had wanted maximum points, the boys didn’t play badly and they would have to make do with the point won.
“It wasn’t a bad game but the boys didn’t perform as I wanted. I hoped for maximum points but it never came. We will keep working hard.
” No coach wants to be at the bottom of the table. We’re still studying this team as it is only our third game. We’re working hard to keep improving the team. Things will get better very soon,” He said.
The coach stated his resolve to end the run of four consecutive matches against Abia Warriors that has ended 1-0 in favour of the Umuahia based side, and declared that they will try to get one over the Ochendo Boys when they visit Umuahia.
“I wanted to beat Abia Warriors but it never happened. We will try again in Umuahia to beat them,” he added.
Ezekiel Onyegbule informed that Heartland is already focused on the next game as the draw has been out behind them already.
“We will resume (training) immediately so as to be ready for the trip to Maiduguri for our next game against Elkanemi Warriors,” he concluded.
Heartland have endured a torrid season since returning from relegation and are seated 18th in the 20-team Nigeria Professional Football League table.
