Caretaker Coach of Sunshine Stars football club, Henry Abiodun feels his team were hard done by with one-sided calls by the match officials in his side’s 3-1 loss to FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday.

Sunshine Stars were condemned to their fifth defeat of the season by the Ladan Bosso led team, and an obviously unhappy Henry Abiodun hinged the defeat on the performance of the referee, particularly in the first 60 minutes of the game.

“It’s a pity we lost 3-1. We came here to play football and I hate to say this, as you can see you cannot put pressure on a particular team for about 60 minutes and expect them to do magic. They only let us play 30 minutes when our opponents had a two goal cushion.

“We played some good football, created a lot of opportunities especially in the last 30 minutes when he allowed the guys to play…” a crestfallen Abiodun stated without mincing words.

Results have gone from bad to to worse for the Akure based team but Coach Henry Abiodun believes it’s only a matter of time before they bounce back even as he looks to bolster his squad when the mid season transfer window opens.

“…we will go back to build on this show and try to win the next game. Mind you the season is still not half way, and the midseason window is just days away, we will look to bring in one or two additions.”
Seventeenth placed Sunshine Stars will host Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in their next game at the Akure township stadium.
