Coach of Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC, Henry Makinwa felt his side were affected ‘psychologically’ by Adeshina Gata’s failure to put his side in front with the game tied at 0-0.

Goals from Rivers United’s Christian Weli and substitute Asamoah Godbless condemned the newly promoted NPFL side to their seventh defeat this season.

With the game even, Gata saw his shot in the 34th minute cannon off the crossbar despite being well placed to score.

Four minutes later Rivers United took the lead through Christian Weli but Makinwa believes the miss affected his players mentally.

“If we had scored that goal, psychologically my boys would have been able to play better football and would have come to score a second goal,” said Makinwa.

“But we lost that opportunity and almost 10-5mins later they got a goal so I think it really affected the psychology of my boys.
