Ideye scores to deny Ighalo’s Yatai all three points

Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye scored the equalizer for Tianjin Teda in the 46th minute in a 1-1 draw against Changchun Yatai, who also featured another Nigerian striker in Odion Ighalo.

Tianjin were without their captain Mikel Obi who also doubles as skipper of the Super Eagles, as he continues his recuperation from surgery.

Ighalo failed to get on the scoresheet and was issued a yellow card fifteen minutes before full time.

Meanwhile in Russia, Nigerian striker Kehunde Fatai scored the only goal for UFA as they beat Ural 1-0. UFA finished the Russian League season in 7th position with 43 points.

Over to Belgium where ex Super Eagles forward Joseph Akpala scored in the 68th minute for Oostende who lost 2-3 to Anderlecht in the Belgian playoffs. Akpala was on from start to finish ending the season with 3 goals due to limited appearances.

Still in Belgium where four Nigerians featured for Gent in their 1-2 loss to Club Brugge. Moses Simon made a return from injury which kept him out for 3 games.

Anderson Esiti, Samuel Kalu and William Troost-Ekong all played their parts as Gent secured a place in next season’s Europa league
