Another game, another goal yet again for Super Eagles number nine Odion Ighalo for Changchun Yatai in a Chinese Super League game 2-5 defeat to Guangzhou R&F F.C on Saturday.
It took only 12 minutes for Ighalo to net the first goal of the match, but Junior Urso leveled up for host Guangzhou R&F in the 28th minute before Dusko Tosic put them ahead 10 minutes later before Xiao Zhi goal in the final minute of the first half put them further clear.
The second half continued to produce goals with Eran Zahavi helped himself to a brace for Guangzhou in the 72nd and 90th minutes, with Changchun Yatai’s Long Tan putting some respect into the scoreline in between Erna Zahavi strikes.
The loss saw Guangzhou overtake Ighalo’s Changchun into ninth position with 25 points from 18 matches while Changchun are a point adrift from same number of matches.
Ighalo now 30′ scored for Changchun Yatai Wednesday midweek in a league clash win over Beijing Renhe to go top of the Chinese League top marksmen.
Ighalo will take his goal scoring form to confront Hebei CFFC next Sunday.
