After registering his first goal for Leicester City in Tuesday night’s EFL cup win against Leeds United, Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho is excited and equally ready to add more goals to his name.
Iheanacho who scored after a poor clearance by Leeds goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald to level the scores after Leeds had taken the lead, explained why he did not take the shot first time while the keeper was off his post.
”I wanted to take it with my right foot but I wasn’t too sure, so I got it back onto my left foot and put it into the corner,” Iheanacho said while speaking with LCFC TV .
Iheanacho then described what his first goal in seven appearances for Leicester meant to him.
”It was a great goal so I’m happy to get a goal and help the team to go to the next round.
”It means a lot to me. I’m happy to get my first goal and I hope there are many more to come in the future.”
Kelechi Iheanacho joined Leicester City from Manchester City at the beginning of the ongoing season, Tuesday’s start against Leeds was his third start in all competitions for the foxes.
