There was a return for Kelechi Iheanacho to the Etihad Stadium in the colours of Leicester City, but it will not be a memorable visit for Iheanacho to his old stumping ground as they suffered a 1-5 defeat. He was brought on in the 62nd minute to a warm welcome from the Manchester City fans.
Iheanacho teamed up alongside Super Eagles team-mate Wilfred Ndidi who lasted the whole 90 minutes, he was yellow carded in the 71st minute..
The North London derby bragging rights went the way of Tottenham Hotspur who beat Arsenal 1-0 at Wembley Stadium in the EPL early kickoff.
Gunners Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi came on as a 65th minute substitute to help mount an unsuccessful come back.
Down in the championship, Super Eagles versatile full back Ola Aina was on for 90 minutes for Hull City as they bagged a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest away from home.
SPAIN – La Liga

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was on for 90 minutes but his Mainz 05 side shipped in four goals to lose 2-4 to Hoffenheim away from home. Balogun was booked in the 87th minute .
Meanwhile his Nigerian team-mate and striker Anthony Ujah was an unused substitute.
NETHERLANDS – Eredivise
Veteran Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche could not repeat his previous match heroics for Willem II as they suffered a 0-1 loss to Heracles.
Ogbeche who saw full action, was booked in the 55th minute.
Similarly, striker Fred Friday was involved in the whole duration of Sparta Rotterdam’s 1-2 loss to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven at home.
BELGUIM – First Division A
Veteran striker Joseph Akpala started and lasted 71 minutes before he was recalled to the bench in Oostende’s 2-0 win over Anderlecht who are still without injured striker Henry Onyekuru.
Abdujeleel Ajagun was deployed in midfield for Kortrijk’s 4-0 win over Royal Antwerp, and his great performance saw him go the distance.
Finally in Belgium, on loan Arsenal winger Chuba Akpom came out on the losing side in the Nigerian battle after his St. Truiden side suffered a 3-0 loss away to Gent who had only one of their Nigerian trio in Samuel Kalu available for the encounter.
Kalu who started from the bench for Gent was brought on in the 69th minute, while Akpom who started for Truiden was subbed off in the 78th minute
In the Austrian Bundesliga former Akwa United midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim was sent on for Austria Wien in the 89th minute in what was a 1-3 loss at home to LASK.
