Ikeme steps up return from injury

Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers first choice Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme on Tuesday posted a picture of himself on social media indicating he isn’t far away from a return to fitness after an injury layoff

Ikeme, who made 33 appearances for the championship side last season has been out of action since March.

The light skinned goalkeeper revealed a picture of himself on his Twitter handle – @Carl_Ikeme on Tuesday and wrote: “Work đź’Ş âš˝”.

Ikeme missed couple of games for the Super Eagles of Nigeria including the 0-2 defeat against Bafana Bafana of South Africa in an AFCON 2019 qualifier due to injury and his return will be a big relief to Eagles manager Gernot Rohr as he prepares​ the team for upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifier against the indomitable Lions​ of Cameroon in August.

Ikeme has made 9 caps for Nigeria since making his debut in 2016.
