Ikorodu United coach in need of away points

Ikorodu United head coach, Shakiru Giwa has stated that their target is to get an away win when they face Osun United in one of the match day ten fixtures of the Nigeria National League on Wednesday‎ at the Osogbo city stadium.

The Oga boys have begun life in the NNL poorly after being relegated from the top flight division last season though they did record a win over visiting My people FC last weekend. They are bottom of the Southern Conference with five points from nine games.

Giwa stressed that he has charged his wards to maintain focus and try to get a victory against Osun United on Wednesday.

He said although they respect Osun United because they are also a very good side but his team must also‎ start picking away points if they really want to remain in the NNL.

“We are here in Osogbo to see if we can secure an away win. The Omoluabi giants as they are called are giant in the NNL but we are up to the task to give them a run for their money.

“We are going to the encounter with a strategy we feel should guarantee us the maximum points irrespective of what they throw back at us on wednesday. We will give them a thorough fight and hopefully we will return home with victory songs in our mouths”, Giwa told naijafootballplus.com
