Ikorodu United midfielder, Ridwan Sodiq believes his side can end the Nigeria National League season on a positive and high note.
The Oga boys are expected to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Nnewi United in the match day 31 encounter decided at Rojenny International stadium, Nnewi last weekend.
“We had a nice game against Nnewi United but we couldn’t figure out how we conceded two cheap goals”, Ridwan told naijafootballplus.com
“We gave them a tough fight in Nnewi but we lost concentration and we paid dearly for it.
“We must put that defeat behind us and concentrate on the next game against First Bank FC on sunday.
“It’s a derby game and we won’t underrate our opponents again. The defeat against Nnewi United was quite painful and still hurtd everyone, but we must bounce back from that defeat. We had to even task ourselves to finish this season on a very high note.
“Everyone at the club now has the mindset of ending the season a brighter note. Our next three games will be very important. We will need to play them with utmost seriousness.
“The ambition of the club was to secure the promotion ticket back to the NPFL but we had a slow start to the season and we couldn’t just achieve that this season”, Alkuriani as he’s fondly called submitted.
Ikorodu United are 12th on the log of the NNL southern conference with 35 points after 29 round of matches and they will play host to relegation threatened first bank of Lagos on Sunday in the match day 32 of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League.
