Ikorodu United midfielder, Sodiq Ridwan believes their victory over Osun United last weekend will spur them to a strong finish to the 2017 Nigeria National League season.
The Oga boys pipped the Omoluabi giants 2-0 on matchday 25 of the NNL courtesy of Moghara Dede’s brace in a clash that was decided at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.
“We had a great game against Osun United”, Ridwan told naijafootballplus.com
“Both sides gave a very good account of themselves. But I think we deserved a win in that encounter and we got it. We have put that victory over Osun United behind us now and we are focusing on the next game against my People FC this weekend.
“Our hope is to maintain the same form as we did against Osun United because we dominated most of the possession. We dictated the game and the victory we got is a well deserved one.
“We need to concentrate on the next game against My People FC. We will not underrate them because of their position on the log. They also have a point to prove. They are unlucky to be at the bottom of the log but they won’t be a push-over for us. We would try as much as possible to get the three maximum point at stake when we play them at their ground this weekend.
“We actually want to finish the season on a bright note. We have charged ourselves after the victory over Osun United that we are going to Agege stadium to pick another three points which is very possible. We are overwhelmed with our response in the last couple of games and we want to continue with this momentum and with our dedication, determination and commitment, we will achieve our target”, said Riwan.
Ikorodu United are in 9th position on the log with 31 points after 25 matches. They will be guests of bottom placed My People FC this weekend at the Agege township stadium.
