Technical adviser of Nigeria professional league side MFM FC Fidelis Ilechukwu has tendered an apology for his poor behaviour and attitude in the matchday 24 fixture between his team and Shooting Stars at the Agege stadium, Lagos.
The manager was sent to the stands in the 76th minute after he had a heated argument with the match official .
According to the coach: “to err is human and forgiveness is divine.
“I want to say I’m sorry for my excesses in our last home game against 3SC.
“Football is an emotional game and I believe my emotion took over me on that day. Don’t forget that Fidelis Ilechukwu is human, I’m not perfect and I have realised that I made mistake.
“I hold the laws of the game in high esteem because without the law, football will be something else.
“This is my sincere apology to anyone who was disappointed with the way things pan out in that game.”
The church boys won the match 1-0 courtesy of Monday Shinshima’s 21st minute goal.
MFM are 2nd on the log with 40 points from 24 matches.
