Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM FC) head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has shifted focus to his side’s all important Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 33 fixture against two time African champions, Enyimba International FC at the Agege stadium on Sunday.
The Olukoya Boys shared the spoil in the reverse fixture at the UJ Esuene stadium in Calabar. Stephen Chukwude cancelled out Stephen Odey’s early strike in the first leg which ended 1-1 at the People’s Elephant’s adopted ground.
MFM recorded only their second away victory of the season with a 1-0 win at Remo Stars. The win saw the Yaweh Boys stay close with league leaders Plateau United with just three points separating both sides.
Ilechukwu who relishes the win in Shagamu, has instead moved his focus towards the task at hand in Enyimba.
“I want to appreciate my players for their wonderful performance against Remo Stars in Abeokuta in our last match. It’s indeed a sweet victory and we really thank God for that but we have to put that behind us now and start preparation for our next game against a tough opposition in Enyimba FC which is a very important game”, Ilechukwu told naijafootballplus.com
“We can’t afford to slip at home this time around if we are to achieve our target this season. It’s not going to be easy as every game now will be more difficult. The last time we visited them, they were having a bad time but they have bounced back really hard and they are a team to beat.
We await Enyimba’s test
The game with the People’s Elephant is a top of the table clash, victory for either side will move them closer to finishing in the continental positions.
Ilechukwu says his team is ready for the stern test Enyimba will present on Sunday.
“They also have something they are targeting this season because they are also an ambitious club. But we awaits their test and our expectation is to get positive result so as to move closer to our target this season,” the Working One as he’s fondly called submitted.
MFM FC occupy 2nd position on the log with 55 points, three points adrift of leaders Plateau United.
Enyimba on the other hand are 4th on the log with 50 points with 6 matches before the end of the season.
