Lobi stars have been good this season in the league, and doing quite well on the continent in the CAF Champions League.
One who followed their transfer dealings before the start of the season would surely expect their sort of performance which they’ve put up, due to the sort of signings they made, top signings like Yaya Kone and Sikiru Alimi (Forward), Dare Ojo and Kelly Kester(Midfield) etc.
With Just 4 games played, they’ve got 7 points out of a possible 12 points and still have 6 games outstanding to play.
For one of their strikers, Yaya Kone, the Ivorian has been in a good form as Sikiru Alimi also.
Kone in 4 league games, have scored 4 goals, and 2 goals in the CAF Champions League.
After scoring his 4th in the League yesterday against Remo Stars FC, Naijafootballplus on Thursday morning had the promising forward in an exclusive interview.
When asked on what his secret is scoring important goals for Lobi stars when needed, he Said;
“Honestly, I do not have any special secret, aside the secret of hard work, belief, and the motive to always push and make my team get the result which is positive. That’s all I do, then I stay calm and follow the Coach’s instruction when on the pitch inputting my scoring ability, coupled with the fact that I come into every game wanting to always score”
Having started well, the young striker said he’s not in any competition to be the highest goalscorer at the end of the season, but will always take chances to use.
“Yes I like to score, but it’s not my target to be the top scorer at the end of the season, but if I get lots of chances, I’ll always take them and use well.
There are so many good strikers in the league, so I’m not in any competition, but to do my own part of work for my team which is delivering goals” said Kone.
Finally, Kone said his aim with Lobi stars is to do the unthinkable and surpass people’s expectation for them.
“This season, we want to win everything that’s a trophy in Nigeria in competitions we’re involved in, and to beat people’s imagination, also to go past the group stages of the CAF Champions League, and by God’s grace we’ll achieve that.
Up next for Lobi stars, is Niger Tornadoes who are rock bottom with 7 points from 10 matches.
