Israeli league crowns Nwakaeme as Player of the year

Hapoel Be’er Sheva striker, Anthony Nwakaeme has been named Israeli league’s best player for the 2016/2017 season.

Nwakaeme has scored 18 goals in all competitions for Hapoel Be’er Sheva making him the team’s top hitman this season.

The Nigerian while making his acceptance speech during the award ceremony thanked his teammates, coaches and every player that voted for him in the polls.

Nwakaeme, 26, then posted a brief message on his Instagram wall:

“I’m so happy to have won the best player in the League. Thanks to my teammates, coaches and everyone that voted for me. Special thanks to my bro John Ogu”.

Anthony Nwakaeme and John Ogu were instrumental in Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s league campaign culminating in winning the league a fortnight ago.
