The close bond between Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi and Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho continues to blossom on and off the pitch.
Iwobi has spoken of his desire to be closer to Iheanacho on a regular basis
and believe a move to Arsenal will benefit their relationship.
“I tell you, you should see us on Snapchat! Always bantering. We’re
room-mates right now and he’s just the funniest guy I know, ” Iwobi said.
“We do get on well off the pitch as well as on the pitch. Maybe I can try to convince Arsenal to sign him – but I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
Iwobi was speaking from the camp of the Super Eagles in London where both
players started for the Super Eagles in the 1-1 draw against Senegal last week Thursday with Iheanacho eventually scoring Nigeria’s goal to cancel Sow’s opener for Senegal.
Iwobi is the reigning young player of the Year in Africa, while his pal Iheanacho won the best young prospect of the Year in the CAF Awards gala earlier this year.
