Former Kano Pillars defender Jamiu Alimi has joined Nigeria Professional Football League side Akwa United.

A few Weeks ago, Naijafootballplus.com reported Jamiu Alimi was on the verge of signing a new deal at Kano Pillars but it was not to be as the deal fell through following a further breakdown in negotiations.

Pillars on the other hand have recently signed Kalu Orji to help bolster their defence.

Naijafootballplus.com can now however confirm Alimi is all set to join Akwa United.

In a chat with Naijafootballplus.com, Jamiu Alimi expressed his happiness at teaming up with the promise Keepers and spoke on his aspirations with the side.

“I am with Akwa United now, and I am actually happy, because I am where I want to be, and I give Thanks to God for that,”said the defender.

“I have joined this great club to win the all alone first position this season, which is winning the league  plus the Cup as an addition.”

Jamiu Alimi is expected to be officially unveiled soon as he signs a 2-year deal with the Uyo side.
