Joel Obi Joins Chievo Verona from Torino

Italian Serie A side Chievo Verona has announced the captureof Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi on a 3 year deal.

Obi moved to Italy in 2005 and joined Inter Milan youth team, where he stayed for 4 years before he was promoted to the first team under José Mourinho.

He made his senior debut in 2010 in the Uefa Champions League game against Werder Bremen.

Obi joined FC Torino in 2015  and became an integral  part of the team  and also netted 5 goals for the team.

Chievo announced his signing on the club website late on Saturday night.

“The A.C.. Chievo Verona announces that it has acquired outright from Torino F.C. sports performance of midfielder Joel Obi, who signed a contract expiring on 30.06.2021 with an option to 06/30/2022. ” the tweet read.

Obi who was part of Nigeria Super Eagles team to Russia 2018 World Cup has also been given the Jersey number 22.
