John Owoeri scores in Chinese second division

Former Flying Eagles attacker John Owoeri on Saturday scored for Chinese second tier side Baodin Yingli Yintong.

In a mid table clash against Dalian Yifang, former Heartland of Owerri winger, Owoeri responded to an early goal scored by the away team Dalian Yifang through Nyasha Mushekwi to level the scores at 1-1 in the 34th minute.

Nyasha Mushekwi completed his brace for Yifang just before half-time to put them in the driving seat at the end of first half.

Yannick Boli scored a third goal to put the game beyond Owoeri and his teammates in the 80th minute and ensured the match finished 1-3 in favour of Dalian Yifang.

Owoeri, who was part of Nigeria’s​ Flying Eagles team that came second at FIFA U-20 World cup in Holland in 2005 joined the Chinese team Baoding Yingli Yintong in 2017 after he left BK Hacken of Sweden in 2016.
