Kano Pillars FC has discredited claims in some sections of the media that the club will continue to foot the educational bills of late Chinedu Udoji’s family.
The club released an official statement via its twitter handle on Saturday night, dismissing the reports as mere speculations saying the club didn’t make any statement backing such a gesture.
“There are some reports going round in some media that Kano Pillars FC will continue sponsoring the education of the family of Late Chinedu Udoji. The report is not true and the Club Chairman never conducted an interview related to that story,” the statement read in part.
Earlier this month, the club officially announced the donation of the sum of three million naira to the family of the late player by the state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The club further condemned the misinformation and urged the public to stay abreast of official information concerning the late player from the club.
“Despite being a very nice gesture, we condemn the misinformation and we urge the public to disregard the story, the club will announce properly when there is any development either from the Kano State Government or the club ” concluded the statement.
Chinedu Udoji passed away in the wee hours of February 19 after a ghastly motor accident.
